Art, comics, graphic design and web development by the artist: Matthew Taylor
I have always been fascinated by animation and I have experimented with many formats. Most of the animated work that I have produced is very simple, short and silent, mainly because it has been created to be viewed online.
When producing animated content for the web one of the biggest hurdles to overcome is keeping the file size down to a reasonable level. Even though today there are more and more people accessing the web on broadband connections I believe it is still important to keep files small. I like to publish work that is accessible to as many people as possible; I don't want to discriminate by connection speed. The easiest way to achieve this is to use Flash movies or animated GIF images; these are two of the most popular methods of displaying animation online due to their simplicity and efficiency.
