Comments by the artist

This drawing has a slightly cartoony feel to it because I didn't vary the lines very much when I inked them in. The nib I was using stopped me from making lines too thin so maybe that was partly to blame. The shadows were painted in with a brush using a diluted amount of sepia ink. The drawing would have looked better if I had painted white highlights with gouache. I've never tried that before so maybe I will next time.
