Drawing is the most basic of all art forms but it is also the most diverse. There are just so many mediums out there to use and explore. In this drawing section I look at some of my favourites methods. I have been drawing for as long as I can remember and it feels as natural to me as walking or talking. Sometimes when I’m talking and I find it hard to explain something, my natural reaction is to reach for a pencil and ‘draw’ my explanation. This may seem strange to some but that’s just how I work. I guess I’m a very visual person and I like to ‘see’ things visually, not only pictures but also abstract ideas such as database designs or programming logic.

I have been taking this idea further over the last 6 years by studying anatomy. By understanding how the human body works you can ‘construct’ a person on your paper from bones and muscles rather than just drawing the surface of the body. This deeper layer makes the drawings come to life.
